Meet the author: Valerie Berg
As an animal welfare advocate, I find that I am occasionally a bit pessimistic. Alright, I’ll admit it’s often difficult to see the progress that education and legislation have made — particularly when we now have to battle radical animal rights activists that wish domestic animals into extinction in addition to animal abusers.
After spending the past 10 years or so volunteering and working with animals, I have decided to actually use my college degree and write about them.
Currently I am a volunteer and foster parent for One by One Cat Rescue, and a volunteer for The REAL Pit Bull. Some of my other interests include sustainable development, historic preservation, independent media, secular humanism, and literature.
